“I would like to encourage less suffering in this world. Psychedelic has shown to reduce symptoms of stress, including PTSD. Bernie Sanders wants to us all to have universal healthcare and education. It is my hope that these things will bring less suffering to humanity” – Mochipet

Bernie’s slogan?!? “Not me. Us.” We can win this together! This is why Mochipet has asked fellow musicians to join in and create new fresh and interesting Roland TB-303 ACID tracks. One or Three will be released every month until 2303 (really?). We are looking forward to some interesting sounds coming our way! Already slotted are tracks from Nit Grit, Kanizzle, Graz, El Diablo, Josh Decker, YobKiss, Lamebot, Mangangs, The Flying Skulls, and MadSavvy with some things in the works from Otto Von Schirach, Richard Devine, and edIT (Glitch Mob) this is a good cause to be a part of! And best of all; all proceeds will to MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) to further the study of Psychedelics and how it can benefit humanity!

Long standing glitch-hop producer/DJ David Wang (Mochipet) has joined forces with the funky duo Mass Relay on their new track “Bootsy Collins’ Bulbasaur”. This song is featured on Mass Relay’s new EP, “Starborn”, dropping today on Daly City Records. The EP is available now via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play, and several other digital retailers.

Mochipet’s energetic sound fuses cleverly with Mass Relay’s funky guitar and bass, leaving the listener electrified with futuristic synth sounds and moving instrumental lines.

“It was really cool to get to work creatively with an artist we have been listening to for years now” explains Matt from Mass Relay.

“Quote from you… Maybe along the lines of the track started as a loop which can still be heard in the song. I sent the loop to Matt and Chris and they turned that loop into a nice skeleton of a an entire track. From their I had them send me the entire project, and I put my finishing touches on it, which is what you are hearing now”  -David (Mochipet)

Out Now! LAMEBOT Strains “Variety Pack EP 2”

What began as an experimental art project has turned into a new lane for Miami bass warrior, LAMEBOT. The “Strains” project represents the audible merging of neural oscillation, medicinal marijuana benefits, and electronic music. Each EP is an assortment of different medical marijuana strains represented in the form of music. Everything including the key the compositions are written in, the bass frequencies used, and the tempo of the song, have all been planned to mirror the effects of the strain that is the song’s namesake.

“Variety Pack EP 2” is a fervent selection of Sativa strains, which is evident from its more upbeat and aggressive sounds in comparison to the Indica/hybrid heavy EP 1. The track arrangements are progressive and embody LAMEBOT’s urge to further blur genre lines, creating a Venn diagram of Dubstep, Trap, Future Bass, and Nintendo nostalgia. With big drums over searing synth lines and bass frequencies that are more felt than heard, this EP is your dependable guide through a Sativa wonderland.

Mochipet Live at Solar Eclipse Festival Sulawesi Indonesia 2016

Recently I had the honor of playing at the first Solar Eclipse Festival in Sulawesi Indonesian. Located on an island just east of Borneo, the festival was like nothing I have ever experienced before. Thousands of people from all around the world gathered and danced on top of a Aboriginal Indonesian Reservation to watch a Full Solar Eclipse in the middle of nowhere. There were stages and tree houses completely constructed out of bamboo and recycled materials. The infrastructure was all made to be sustainable as possible and I did not meet one person I did not like the whole time I was there. There were local acts as well as artists from all around the world. Sure there was problems, they were doing a full scale festival in the middle of nowhere. But what came out was nothing short of amazing. I wish you were there to share in my experience but since you were not please enjoy my set from the show; it contains many unreleased tracks as well as some side projects which will be released officially in the upcoming months!

“I have always been a fan of Tool ever since I started playing guitar as a kid, and I always wanted to do something with Kendrick Lamar. But after hearing so many Hip-Hop and Dance remixes of Swimming Pools (Drank) I felt like I would just be adding more noise to a already saturated trend. I wanted to do something different. So after hearing “Sober” come on my pandora station I thought this would be a perfect mash-up. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. Mochipet Psilocybin Samurai Remix Contest Winner Announced!

Last month we launched The Mochipet Psilocybin Samurai Remix Contest presented by TheUntz.com with our friends from Ableton, Keith McMillen Instruments, Serato, iZotope, Drum Pads 24, and DJ TechTools and asked you to create a remix for two songs off Mochipet’s new release Cractal Frunk and Psilocybin Samurai. What we received was nothing short of amazing!

 

 

First off thank you to everyone who submitted remixes for the contest. The production value was top notch and way more than we had ever expected. The judges (Mochipet, edIT of the Glitch Mob, Z-Trip, Ill.Gates, and Mr. Lif) had a extremely hard time picking a clear winner. There was definitely more than one song that stood out as the best remix in terms of composition and production value. However since we have have to pick one we will say our Grand Prize winner is Pockitz! and Runner Up is Dreameater!. More than honorable mentions go out to Atomic Reactor, Otist Reading, Mass Relay, Wobble Maharajas, PRE + END, and Nocturnum. And just so you know that we really did love all these remixes we would like to invite all the honorable mentions to be on the remix album as well! Thank you all for the time and energy you put into this we really appreciate it, keep making amazing music. Keep an eye out for The Mochipet Psilocybin Samurai Remix album which will be out next month!

Mochipet & Mr. Lif team up to hone their inner “Spark” and explore new grounds on this Bass Heavy Industrial Hip­Hop release reminiscent to that of NIN. David (Aka. Mochipet) shares with us the background “I remember vividly when I started working on this track with my friend Mr Lif because it is the exact time my father began having severe health problems. So much so that it forced him to enter the hospital several times soon after. He was in such bad shape I had to stop touring and take time off from music completely. This was a dark time in my life, I stopped working on music all together, my heart was not in it. But even so I knew I had to do something, so what spare time I had I would slowly work on spark. The lyrics within it resonated with me. “If you envision that light through the dark, through the spirit of the heart better follow that spark” It reminded me that it’s often in times of darkness you need the light the most, and sometimes the only place this can come from is from within. Mochipet Launches Remix Competition for ‘Psilocybin Samurai’

Calling all Producers and Beat Makers! Petnation Recordings has teamed up with TheUntz.com to present a remix contest for Mochipet’s new album Psilocybin Samurai! Entrants can choose between remixing the title track “Psilocybin Samurai”or the Glitch-hop Trufflestep Banger “Cractal Frunk.” Adding to the fun Mochipethas brought his friends edIT of the Glitch Mob, Z-Trip, Ill-Gates, and Mr. Lif to judge the contest! Both a grand prize winner and a runner up will be chosen to appear on the release, and in addition will receive prizes such as a copy of Ableton Live Standard, Keith McMillen Instruments QuNeo & K-Board, Midi Fighter by DJ TechTools, iZotope Ozone 6 + Stutter Edit, and Serato Control Vinyl + DJ Licenses.
