Mochipet looking for Animators to his new Live Show!

ATTENTION ALL ANIMATORS MOCHIPET IS LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP

Electronic Music Producer David Wang (aka Mochipet) is looking for animators to help create content for his new Touring Audio/Visual Experience. We are currently looking for artists versed in any animation medium (Stop-Motion, Flash, 3D, Traditional Illustration) for a collaborate project with original content. This is for a new stage show we are developing for Mochipet’s new album “Rawr Means I <3 You.” Some traveling might be involved. This is a chance artists to work on a new experimental collaborative medium in the world of music and art. If you are interested please email links to your portfolio to animators@mochipet.com.

La petite gifle Glitch Hop du moment nous vient de San Francisco et du Dj/producteur Mochipet. Déjà son dernier LP « Rawr Means I love you! » avait fait parler de lui avec notamment le track Whomp-A-Saurus Sex, premier extrait en free DL. Rawr Means I love you! » a été mis sur son Soundcloud courant 2011, promo originale, Mochipet annonce qu’il libèrera son nouveau petit bijou au public dès que Whomp a Saurus Sex attendra 5069 lectures, exactement. Chose faite rapidement ! Thématique loufoque des dinosaures dans cet LP, les tracks sentent le Jurassik Park à plein nez. Explosion machinale pour 4 pistes pêchues Dubstep, Glitch et Bass Metal, comme lui-même le définit. Unique en son genre, certainement de part ses multi casquettes musicales et un Soundcloud fourni volontiers, Mochipet fait du Glitch (entre autres) recherché et original, la plupart du temps en Free DL.

Landed is the third LP from idm and downtempo producer A.VanVranken, produced and fine-tuned over several years. Taking a cue from more mellow idm and ambient influences such as The Flashbulb and Autechre, Landed is grounded in melody and intentional beats rather than the harder idm-style turbulent noise. Starting things off confidently with the sunny roadtrip of ‘Tomorrow’ and ending with the deliberate calm chaos of ‘Scy’, the album guides one through bright and danceable head-bobbing moments, industrial suspense, and introspective interludes catered by mysterious, unintelligible vocal samples allowing you to insert your own context into each track. Elements of non-idm artists such as El-P and Black Moth Super Rainbow sneak into tracks like ‘Trench’ and ‘Miguel’ to add variety and complexity to the soundscape, with intriguing distortions and repetitive glitchy hooks scattered throughout to flow it together in a carefully-arranged and cohesive package. Landed might best be described as ‘active background glitchbient shoegaze’ – a soundtrack for a beautiful day spent outside, or afterhours chilling at home.

Born in Taiwan R.O.C. to Rocket Scientist father and Kindergarten Teacher mother, David Wang (a.k.a. Mochipet) has been tinkering with electronics since he was a child. However, not until he added music to the equation, did something special begin to take shape. Having grown up listening to metal guitar, avant-garde jazz, and mainstream hip-hop, David’s eclectic taste can now be seen in his music – ever changing, and always evolving.

Mochipet’s Spacezilla EP being released on Mallabel Music went up for pre-release on Addictech.com on June 28th and soon made it to #1 on Addictech.com’s Top New Album Releases.

GRiZ’s End of the World Party released on Daly City Records after winning Daly City Records SXSW Showcase and Producer Contest was released on Addictech.com on May 30th.

I discovered Mochipet when several friends starting posting links to  his music. He takes on bass music and twists into his on glitchy,  wobble, RAWR type beats.

He is known as the man who performs in a cute dino costume. He has  played shows all over the world and his music is widely known in the  bass music community. He often gives out free tunes to his Pet Nation!  Keep your eyes and ears peeled on this little dino for he will be sure  to make you want to rock out.
