As part of the great success of the Mimi Page Harmonious Heartbeats remix album, the highly prolific and talented Elfkowitz (Ian Lefkowitz) contributed an absolute musical masterpiece, one of my favorites on the album by far, and upon hearing it, Mimi Page immediately pursued the project further. With his signature dark and psychedelic beats and powerfully driving sub-bass, Elfkowitz creates a marvelous and intricate backdrop for the light, ethereal, and absolutely breath-taking vocals of Mimi Page. With styles that act as a perfect counter-balance to each-other, Mimi Page and Elfkowitz are getting ready for the release of their 4-track collaborative album, a melancholy yet beautifully uplifting ride through the heart and soul of these passionate musicians.
Make sure to check out my favorite song on the album, “You Lead I’ll Follow”. Soft yet powerful, sultry yet classy, this song is a quintessential example of the power and unlocked potential of musical collaboration. The signature styles of both artists remain starkly present, but an untapped well of newfound inspiration is most assuredly unlocked in the collaborative process.
